The two issues that I have with Digg.com at the moment are the new difficulties with digging your friends and the Digg.com team implementing features that the community is not concerned about at the moment (although I am personally enjoying the new social networking features). In particular, I am referring to the comment system and picture system, which seem to be at the bottom of the to do list, yet requested every day by some irate Digg.com user.
The big salvation factor, for me, is the Digg API. By releasing a robust API they have allowed for developers to fix problems and implement features while the community waits for official releases. You probably have already seen an implementation of the Digg picture section, which has over 6,000 diggs. Notifir.com has promised to make the friend digging process easier, also utilizing the Digg.com API.
Something that I would love to see Digg.com implement, is a democratic, Digg.com style feature request section, such as we have. We already have a clear idea of what the top two requests the Digg.com community would like to see (fix the comments and implement a picture section). It would be interesting to see what other features/fixes you would like to see.

I have been digging what my friends submit consistenet for the past many weeks. I have submitted relatively few submissions.
Now however I cannot digg my friends’ submissions because I justdot have the time
I wish there as a way I could communicate with my friends to let them knowIm signing off for now but I guess they’ll understand without my having to say a thing.
Perhaps Digg is okay with a precipitous drop in activity.
I’m okay with it.
The change does make it harder to web 2.0 with your friends. I have discovered a ton of great info at digg however it will be much harder o share them treasure now and to participate in the web 2.0 site.
